My Special Agent Oso birthday goodies

Last Sunday, I made a Special Agent Oso cake and cookie pops for three-year-old Gabriel. I was very proud of the cake! After all, I had to sculpt Oso out of fondant, and I didn't find any tutorial to assist me. But in the end, I got a cute Agent Oso figure that looked a lot like the real thing. I checked the internet for photos, and I could say that I did a pretty good job on it. I found a lot of pictures that turned Oso into a mouse from a bear.

Here are some of the pictures:

This is me with the Agent Oso cookie pops that I made.

Gabriel's cake is chocolate fudge with chocolate ganache filling covered with vanilla buttercream.

Gabriel's mom gave me a reference photo to follow for the design. The original cake was covered in fondant with more details. I had to omit the other details when I made my buttercream version.

"Happy Birthday Gabriel"

Agent Oso and the lady bug (I forgot that the lady bug was carrying a flashlight! I made one though, just before I delivered the cake).

I don't even know the names of these characters. Hahaha!

I did not have any tutorial to properly guide me in making Oso's face and the figure. So I made a tutorial! It's my first ever! It's on my Facebook page, and you can check it if you need help in making Oso.

Here's a semi-tutorial on the Agent Oso figure on the cake:

Oso's body was form by rolling the fondant into a bowling pin shape.

I used the same technique from my 2D Oso face tutorial on this 3D figure, but I added small white dots on the eyes. I also carved a mouth inside the white diamond figure and added a small heart-shaped fondant as the tongue.

I am so sorry if I haven't completed the 3D Oso figure tutorial. I was in a rush to get the figure done! I promise to make better tutorials in the future.

Lawyer cake and police-themed cake

I made these cakes during Valentines week, but I only got to upload them now. Anyway, it's better late than never!

Maui's birthday cake

Maui is still in law school, and it looks like she's breezing through it!

Cake and cupcakes are vanilla tinted purple (law school colors) . It features a gavel and some law books.

To bring out Maui's girly side, I had to put in some flowers.

The client gave me a reference photo for the handcuffs, gun, and walkie talkie designs. However, the guys with guns hidden in the bushes are my original design. These were inspired by my airsoft cupcakes.

Cops hidden in the bushes ready to pounce at the bad guys!

Until my next post! I still have a lot of catching up to do!

Another catch up post: Chinese New Year, Hello Kitty, Ben10, and Biking

The week leading to Valentines day until the 16th of the month was a busy stretch for me. I made quite a lot of stuff that I wasn't able to post at all. Let's start with the cutest Hello Kitty cupcake that I made for three-year-old Amy.

Super cute, right?
I had fun making these!

Also made cookies for Amy's birthday.
I also made a Ben10 cake and cookies for five-year-old Giomell.

When Chinese New Year came, I also made a batch of cupcakes.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!
Last February 6, I also made a biking themed cake.

February has been another baking marathon month. These were just for February 6 to 16, not to mention the dozens of Valentines cookies that I made, a red velvet Valentine cake and cupcakes that I wasn't able to take a picture of because I was in such a rush, plus two more themed cupcakes/cakes that I will feature in my next post. I'm on the verge of another frantic baking stretch! Wish me luck!

Cookies and Kisses that I gave my hubby on Valentines day with his glass of milk

Cute, right?

Hugs,love, kisses, xoxo

Love is sweet!

Catch up time: Valentine cookies

I had a very busy week, so as usual I'm posting some of my stuff late.

I had so much fun making Valentines cookies. I had several design combos and variations. Here they are:

I personally love my stick drawings!

With personalized messages (as requested by the client)

I love the first row!

A variation of my owl-themed cookies

Here's the other three pieces

Third set with a slightly different design

I had a fun making all these! I can't wait for next year!

New Valentine cookie designs

I came up with more designs for my Valentines cookies! I just love brainstorming for ideas and being playful and creative. I LOVE WHAT I DO! The only downside is that, if I don't feel inspired, I don't do anything at all. I could waste days psyching myself to think up of new designs.

Anyway, here's batch two of my Valentines cookies. I call it the "Honey Bee Mine' set.

Buzz!!!
I still plan to make a similar set that I'll call "Be my Ladybug."

Here's my third set. I call it "I only have eyes for you."

The names are not so original, I know. I saw them somewhere while doing research, but I made my own version.

I had so much fun making these! I wanna make more!

Valentines cookies

I've been quiet lately. I haven't done much baking because I got so caught up with reading Game of Thrones and the other books in the Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin. It didn't help that the weather this past few weeks has been very cold and wet. It made me very lazy, plus I still haven't fully recovered from my December bake-a-thon. Seriously, December sucked me of all my energy.

I kept on putting off my plans to prepare samples for my Valentines products. This morning, since it's already Feb 1, I thought I should not put it off any longer. I have to start coming up with my products. So I got my fat ass out of bed and worked in the kitchen. Here's what I have so far.

I'm not yet done! I still have more designs in mind. Maybe I'll complete them by tomorrow...if I don't feel lazy again.
