Sponge Bob topper tutorial

One of my dreams is to be as good as those bakers/cake decorators who create and share very useful tutorials on their blogs. I wish I would become as good as they are that novice and experienced bakers turn to them for ideas and solutions. Well I guess I still got a long way to go, but hey! Why don't I fake it until I make it? You have to be who you want to be, right? I want to be one of the best, so I am going to act like I'm one of the best. It's all in the attitude. With that said, here's my second tutorial ever, the first one posted here on my blog. My first tutorial was how to make an Agent Oso 2D face, which I posted on Facebook . This time it's going to be a 2D Sponge Bob topper tutorial. I'm really wishing that there are people out there who don't have any idea on how to make Sponge Bob toppers. Drumroll please!!! August project: yup, another catch-up post

Why can't I ever update my blog on time? It's because I have a lot of things to do. All the time. Anyway, here's what I've been up to lately since my last post. Cakepops experiment I haven't been successful in my attempts to make cakepops...not until last August 9. It isn't really perfect yet, but it's better than my last trials, especially when it comes to melting chocolate. A few lessons I picked up: *Since my microwave oven doesn't have a digital timer that I can set (only time and temperature dials), I'll have to set the temp at "defrost" place the chocolate in for one minute, take it out and stir, then place it back again. I'll place it inside the oven thrice for a minute each at this temperature setting. *I have to make my cakepops smaller so that they don't "bow" down. Here's the pic of what I made. The finish isn't smooth because I didn't melt enough chocolate to cover the pops when I dippe...

Another catch-up post: NBA themed cakes

My sister and I love watching the NBA, and so does my dad. However, we like different teams. I am a Boston Celtics fan, my sister loves Derrick Rose, and my dad has always been a Heat fan because of Dwyane Wade, even way before Lebron James took his talents to South Beach. I have already made a Boston Celtics cake for my own birthday, and for my dad and sister's joint birthday celebration, I made these: Chicago Bulls cake - I printed the logo and traced it on fondant Miami Heat Cake This is quite a messy cake, I must admit. This was done about an hour before the party started. Pardon the crooked lines on the basketball! I had a lot of fun doing these cakes, and I would gladly do better versions for other basketball fans.
